For decades, UFOs have been shrouded in secrecy, called a conspiracy theory, and laughed at by skeptics. However, in the last year, governments around the world, including the United States, have declassified UAP documents and shocked the public by taking UFOs seriously. But what is going on? What has the governments said about UAPs, and what has not been said? This article discusses the declassified documents, shocking revelations, and what they may mean for the future of UAP research.
The Turning Point: When Governments Began to Recognize UAPs
UAPs (previously called UFOs) were for a long time considered to be hoaxes, weather balloons, or even misunderstood objects. This changed in 2020 when the Pentagon declassified three UAP videos recorded by US Navy pilots. The footage, referred to as the FLIR1, Gimbal, and GoFast videos, showed unidentified objects moving at speeds that no known human-made aircraft could achieve.
This release marked a significant shift. For the first time, the U.S. government admitted that there are certain objects flying in the sky that are still a mystery and require further investigation.

Key Declassified UAP Documents You Should Know About
Since the initial video declassification, more documents and reports have been made available to the public. Some of the most important include:
1. The 2021 U.S. Intelligence Report on UAPs
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) released a preliminary assessment of UAPs in June 2021, based on 144 reports from the military between 2004 and 2021.
Key Findings:
- 143 out of 144 UAP sightings could not be explained.
- Some UAPs had features of high technology such as: high acceleration, horizontal/vertical takeoff and landing, and no visible means of propulsion.
- The report classified UAPs into five categories: airborne clutter, natural atmospheric phenomena, foreign adversarial systems, U.S. classified systems, and others (possibly non-terrestrial).

2. The 2023 NASA UAP Study
On the 4th of September in 2023, NASA issued a detailed UAP report and the experts concluded that UAPs are still a scientific anomaly but more systematic data is required.

Key Findings:
- Many UAP reports have insufficient data for complete analysis.
- NASA announced the formation of a dedicated UAP research division.
- The report also recommended that civilian scientists, military agencies, and commercial pilots should work together to enhance data collection and decrease the prejudice.

3. The 2024 UAP Congressional Hearings & Whistleblower Claims
The biggest UAP bombshells of 2024 were during congressional hearings where witnesses—military men and women, and intelligence personnel—testified under oath that the U.S. government has seized non-human craft and biological samples.

Key Testimonies:
- David Grusch, former intelligence officer, claimed that the US has secret programs that seek to reverse engineer UAP technology that has been recovered.
- Ryan Graves, former Navy pilot, related multiple encounters with objects that have impossible flight characteristics.
- Commander David Fravor, who filmed the famous “Tic-Tac” UAP, described it as a flying absolutely contrary to all the laws of physics that we know of.

What’s Still Classified? The Documents We Can’t See (Yet)
Although more UAP reports have been declassified, there are still hundreds (if not thousands) of classified documents that have not been made available to the public. Some of the biggest mysteries include:
Unreleased UAP Crash Retrieval Reports – Are there recovered UAP materials kept in secret facilities?
Advanced Sensor Data & Radar Footage – Which other modern military high-tech instruments have been captured besides human flight performance.
Historical UAP Encounters – What do governments know about UAPs as far back as the Cold War and beyond?
It is the opinion of many experts that future whistleblowers, FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) requests, and congressional investigations may be able to force the release of even more shocking UAP evidence in the coming years.
Why does UAP Disclosure Matter?
The release of declassified UAP documents isn’t just a matter of satisfying curiosity— it has significant scientific, national security, and philosophical implications.
National Security Risks:
If UAPs are foreign adversarial technology, they present a significant threat to airspace sovereignty. Governments must determine if they are dealing with advanced drones, experimental aircraft, or something else entirely.
Scientific Breakthroughs:
If UAPs are based on new physics, then them and their principles may become the source of revolutionary breakthroughs in propulsion, material science and even space exploration.

The Big Question: Are We Alone?
No government has claimed that the UAPs are of extraterrestrial origin, but some defy our technology and have been referred to by officials as “beyond human capability.” If even one UAP is of non-human origin, it would be the most significant discovery in human history.
Final Thoughts: More Truth to Come?
The declassified UAP documents so far are only the tip of the iceberg. It remains to be seen if there will be more truth revealed with increasing public awareness, congressional pressure, and scientific research that could lead to unprecedented revelations of what is flying in our skies.
